The Newspaper Dress
This shoot is exactly what it sounds like a dress made from a stack of newspapers. It was a editorial style shoot with the collaboration of me (Batman), hair and make-up my Kendra “Special K” and our model Amanda.
105 degrees at high noon. No shade, in the middle of El Mirage dry lake. It actually was hot out there, so hot I left the car running with the AC on so when Amanda was changing her make up wouldn’t completely fade away. SO hot, we used ice packs from the cooler to keep cool. Fashion photographer Matthew Jordan Smith said something like , “sometimes it’s not about the picture, it’s the process of making the picture you’ll always remember.” well true that! The next day my eyes were on fire!
Even with the weather I’m still happy with the way the the photos came out.
